I am a seasoned real estate agent with a strong background in marketing and a distinguished military service record. As a veteran, I bring discipline, dedication, and a strategic approach to every transaction and everything I do in the community. My commitment to the community is evident through my active involvement with my faith-based groups, the local VA, and the Chamber of Commerce, where I serve as a Chamber Ambassador. This role enables me to foster strong community connections, support local businesses, and stay abreast of the latest market trends. Since moving to Payson, I have embraced the beautiful Rim Country of Arizona, where I enjoy fishing, hiking, and camping. I love the sense of community and the welcoming people I have encountered over the past year and a half. Integrity, transparency, and personalized service are the cornerstones of my approach.

I retired as an educator in 2002 after thirty-five years of teaching in grades K-3. I moved to Payson from Silver City, NM 2002 and began volunteering at PSC's Thrift Store in 2002. I was voted on to the Board in 2004. Connie brings wisdom and history to our organization. She is a blessing to those that know her.
"The Payson Senior Center provides a variety of necessary programs for all seniors. I am proud to be a part of the group that has helped to keep the programs available for everyone", Connie explained... and we are proud to have her!

Richard Hinkie (Ric) [email protected]
Our seniors are a precious resource that has served us in so many ways over their lives. They deserve our support now. They rely on us to ensure their nutrition and so much more including a sense of connection and community through programs and services. The staff, volunteers and Board are inspired to serve. I would be honored to offer my ideas, expertise and labor to join with the team. As a co-founder of Payson’s Kindness Works for All initiative, Hometown Heroes writer for the Roundup, 6-year Board member for Habitat for Humanity, Big Brother of the Year, Board Chair for a local church, plus 17 years as President of a national safety and education utility and contractor organization and 23-year veteran of the United States Army, I have learned to work with others for the greater good. Thank you for allowing me to be a candidate.

I believe in the mission of the Center and would like to participate in its continuing activities. I would like to see the Center successfully transition to its new facilities and believe I would help it to do so. As a past architect and pre-design planner I think I can help the Board in its transition to the new location. I was a member and President of the Board of the Payson Art League for several years, during which we expanded the membership and changed its name to Rim Country Artists to more accurately reflect its mission. I also served on the board of the Friends of Tonto Natural Bridge. I was the Chair of the personnel board at Payson United Methodist Church for several years. When I was Dean of the College of Architecture at the University of Arizona and as Associate Dean at ASU, I served on numerous committees and boards.

My first experience in community service was coaching my son’s soccer team for which parents helped. Next I joined the Chandler Kiwanis Club. Our main focus was raising money for the Reading is Fundamental program. I did get elected to the presidency for a short time, then we moved up here the first time. While still living in Chandler in 1997 I joined the Chandler Volunteers in Policing (VIP) program. The area of this program I served in was Victim Assistance. In this we had to take classes on Victimology and Crisis Intervention. We went with officers on their calls to assist the victims’ mental and emotional state, while officers conducted the investigation. During this time, and after, we moved a lot, flipping houses. So, we sat on 3 HOA boards during this time. Where we focused on strengthening the board and weakening the management.
