ABOUT US:

WHO WE ARE:
The Payson Senior Center (PSC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation founded in 1985.  PSC is a community based organization that relies on a small staff and many volunteers to serve Payson and the surrounding areas.
OUR MISSION:
The mission of the PAYSON SENIOR CENTER is to assist senior citizens in the Payson area in achieving and maintaining self-sufficiency with dignity and to offer choices of appropriate care by providing a wide range of community and home based services.
WHY WE DO IT:
Aging comes with a price.  The three biggest threats to aging are hunger, isolation and loss of independence.  Statistics state that 1 in 6 seniors will face these threats...especially in rural communities.  It is critical for seniors to have the resources and support available to assist them gain quality of life.  Our staff and volunteers are passionate about helping our seniors maintain dignity while aging.  We are making a difference.
THE PEOPLE WE SERVE:
Our small rural community is located in northern Gila County, Arizona.  According to the 2010 census, the median age of our community is 53 years old.  Many seniors are without family nearby to assist in their daily needs.  Senior services are minimal.  Many seniors are on a limited income and/or can no longer generate the income they once did.  PSC is the only affordable resource for many of our seniors and disabled.
